Charleston CofCC on site at McCain rally
McCain held three daytime rallies in South Carolina today. Since the events were during work hours, most people could not come out and protest. However, three members of the Charleston CofCC chapter did make it out. Holding signs saying “Stop Illegal Immigration,” “McCain Fights for Amnesty & Open Borders,” and armed with copies of the “McKennedy” bill, it was a very productive day.
Many of the people attending the rally were from the Citadel, the Navy, and the College of Charleston Young Republicans Club. Several people confided in us that they don’t support McCain’s views on immigration but decided to attend to support the GOP.
Several, including some who showed up wearing MCCAIN stickers on their shirt came up to us and wanted to debate. Most of these people were agreeing with us within 30 seconds. The end result is that a lot of people who had no idea what McCain’s record on immigration was, are now very much aware!
Ten people including League of the South members and CofCC also protested McCain around lunch time in Columbia.
