Mecklenburg Commissioner's Confirm Chip Bailey 7-1

NC CofCC News

The Mecklenburg County Commissioners ended two months of drama over the attempt to steal the sheriff’s election by Nick Mackey. Last night the commissioners voted 7-1 to confirm Chip Bailey after the Democratic Party found that Mackey had broken party rules and had enough of his supporters disqualified to make Bailey the winner.  This decision is to be applauded as it came despite early pressure from the black community and the NAACP to confirm Mackey despite the allegations of corruption and Mackey’s background of incompetence.  Despite Al Sharpton coming to Charlotte to inflame racial tensions justice has prevailed in Mecklenburg.  We hope that Mr. Bailey will continue the work of his predecessor, Sheriff Pendergraph, in cracking down on illegal aliens while promoting law and order in Charlotte and throughout the county.

Chip Bailey's Confirmation Imminent

From NC CofCC News

After two months of controversy tomorrow might settle the row over the election of Jim Pendergraph’s replacement as sheriff of Mecklenburg County. Eager to end the drama, the county board will take up the matter and the 4 Republicans on the board have said already that they plan to vote to confirm Chip Bailey as the new sheriff of Mecklenburg instead of the corrupt Nick Mackey. This means only one Democrat in the 9 member board will need to cross over and confirm Bailey’s appointment and already 2 have said they will do so as long as it’s straight with the lawyers. If this indeed happens then it will be a great day for the people of Mecklenburg that law and order prevailed over the corrupt electoral tactics worthy of what happened in Kenya just a month ago. Those who wish to ensure this outcome should call the Commissioners who’s numbers are posted here

Please help ensure that the right man is approved tomorrow and that we will not allow street justice to dictate the course of elections.

Summary of Al Sharpton's Rabble Rousing Event in Charlotte

By: The Unreconstructed Southerner

Al Sharpton’s trip to the Charlotte area yesterday was about all one would have expected from the so called Reverend. With 700 listeners Sharpton railed against the Democratic Party changing it’s rules, presumably just to keep the black man down. Don’t expect Sharpton’s rhetoric to change the tide in Nick Mackey’s favor as more and more black civic leaders are going mute on support for Mackey. Even Harvey Gant, the senatorial candidate defeated by Senator Jesse Helms in 1990 and 1996, is commenting that support in the black community for Nick Mackey is not unified which we can take as a sign it is also waning. Now the County Commissioners and the Democratic Party need to do the right thing and confirm Chip Bailey due to the illegal and fraudulent manner by which Nick Mackey tried to steal this election. Sharpton and his crowd may have had their day but if current trends continue then they’ll have lost the war over the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s race/

Nick Mackey, Wouldbe Sheriff of Mecklenburg County, Found in Contempt of Court

Friends I wish I could make this stuff up but the Mecklenburg County Sheriff Debacle provides plenty of fodder for any aspiring comic.  Nick Mackey, who now even the Democrats are beginning to admit stole the sheriff’s race has today been found in contempt of court.  Back in December Mackey failed to appear on behalf of a client charged with drug pocession. The very next day Mackey was late on top of his already previous failure to appear.   That any sane and rational person would continue to believe that this man should be the sheriff of the largest county in North Carolina is a joke.  Sufficed to say it will be interesting on Wednesday when Al Sharpton shows up in Charlotte to protest the ‘injustice’ of the Democrats not rolling over and giving Mackey the job.

Al Sharpton Coming to Charlotte

By: The Unreconstructed Southerner

What they couldn’t steal at the election booth the fans of Nick Mackey are attempting to gain by intimidation. On January 31 at 7 pm demonstrators are expecting to gather at St. Paul’s Baptist with speakers from the local and national NAACP and Mr. rabble rouser himself Al Sharpton. Just as he did in Durham with the Duke Lacrosse Case, Sharpton is planning to inject himself into a community dispute that will only inflame tensions already rising on account of the corrupt manner of Mackey’s campaign. Now one can only wish that enough folks would be able to gather to drown out the noise sure to be heard from the demonstrators mad because Nick Mackey got caught cheating. Well enough is enough and I just hope the good people of Charlotte and the Mecklenburg County Commissioners ignore the mob and confirm Chip Bailey as the rightful sheriff.

Mecklenburg Democratic Party Finds Nick Mackey Broke Rules, Stole Election

By: The Unreconstructed Southerner

Well the fix is in and even the Democratic Party has found that Nick Mackey’s election to be the sheriff of Mecklenburg County came as a result of trickery and fraud. 70% of all Mackey’s votes came from precincts organized against party rules that allowed Mackey to steal the election from Chip Bailey. The NAACP and other black community spokesmen have yet to respond to these findings but one can only imagine that the Democrats are in for an earful for simply following the law. While the County Commission has yet to rule on the final solution to this dispute one can only imagine that Nick Mackey’s goose is now cooked.

Inner City School Shooting Suspect Arrested in Charlotte

From NC CofCC News

A shooting took place in the parking lot of the Crossroads Charter School in north Charlotte today around 10 am this morning. The police have arrested Oshane Walker, an 18 year old black youth in connection with the shooting.  Walker has a previous record of breaking and entering and attempted car theft.

More Allegations of Corruption Surface in Mecklenburg Sheriff Row

By: The Unreconstructed Southerner

Apparently fudging his hours wasn’t enough for Nick Mackey as apparently he broke the state Democratic Party rules as he organized his campaign to take over the Mecklenburg Sheriff’s Department. 9 precincts in the county have reported voting irregularities and are under review by the Democratic Party.  Given that the great base of the Democratic Party in the county is black I wouldn’t hold my breath on Mackey being given the boot but this episode only goes to show the corruption of inner city politics where the black vote is prominent.  One can only hope and pray that common sense will prevail and that Mackey’s record ought to disqualify him from office but it is looking less likely that thgis will occur.

Follow Up On Mecklenburg Sheriff Controversey

By: The Unreconstructed Southerner

Last month the Mecklenburg County Democratic Party attempted to replace outgoing Sheriff Pendergraph with disgraced black attorney Nick Mackey. Wherever black NC politicians seem to go corruption doesn’t seem to follow far behind and neither does the black community hesitate to play the race card to protect one of it’s own. Now the County Commission is debating on whether to allow this appointment to go forward in light of Mackey’s past bankruptcy and quiting the police force before he would’ve been fired over lying about his hours.

In following this story one can’t help but miss the growing pressure and loud voices emanating from Charlotte’s black community urging this appointment despite Mackey’s past record. Our members should remind our kinsmen that we must display our own racial solidarity as blacks are so apt at doing. Mecklenburg County can’t allow itself to be bullied by ethnic politics and communities seeking to foist one of their own into the key position of enforcing law and order.  We can only hope the County Commission demonstrates good common sense and sends Mackey back to his law office emptyhanded.

Charlotte Sheriff's Department Hits Rock Bottom

By The Unreconstructed Southerner

The Charlotte Sheriff’s Department had the blessing to be led by Jim Pendergraph, who was actually a good Democrat that cracked down on crime and stood for law and order. Now however he might be getting replaced by colored lawyer Nick Mackey, who holds the distinction of being suspended from duty in 2005, declaring bankruptcy, and having incurred tax irregularities. It’s not too much however for the black community who are leaping at the chance to have one of their own in the seat of power for the first time. Just like with Rep. William Jefferson and Mayor Ray Nagin of New Orleans, the colored community has rallied around corrupt and ineffective politicians only because they share the same skin color. So much for the content of their character, not that Mr. King ever lived up to those words himself.

The selection of a black with questionable credentials has opened up splits within the Democratic Party in Mecklenburg County and among blacks and whites in general. While one always hopes for the best, I can only say that in due time Mackey’s selection is likely to produce more corruption, more crime, and a decrease in the cohesiveness of the Sheriff’s Department that had become a point of pride for it’s crackdown on illegal immigration. Our members in that area would be well served to keep appraised of the politics within the Department as it could directly impact the safety of yourself and your family.
