Greenville GOP Censures Lindsey Graham.

The Greenville County Republican Party has censured Lindsey Graham. From the Greenville Times-Examiner:

(Note: I am told that members of the Spartanburg GOP have tried to pass the same resolution at the past two Spartanburg GOP meetings. The Spartanburg Chairman has used parliamentary procedure both times to thwart a vote. CofCC members believe it would pass if given a chance.)

The resolution that passed with a majority vote of representatives from 60 of Greenville’s 105 organized Republican precincts follows:

Whereas, the 2001 Greenville County Republican Convention passed a resolution opposing any legalization of illegal immigrants;

Whereas, the Greenville County Executive Committee in 2004 and 2006 passed resolutions opposing any legalization of illegal immigrants;

Whereas, thousands of grass-roots, self-described Republicans, here in Greenville County have sent e-mails, faxes, letters, made telephone calls, and showed up at events to express their strong opposition to any legalization of illegal immigrants;

Whereas, U. S. Senator Lindsey Graham continues to adamantly support legalization of illegal immigrants in spite of the evidence stated above;

Whereas, U. S. Senator Lindsey Graham expressed contempt for grassroots Republicans, conservatives, and anti-illegal immigration activists by calling them “bigots” who will be told to “shut up,” before the National La Raza Conference.

Therefore, let it be resolved: That the Greenville County Executive Committee respectfully requests, with sincere sadness, to censure Sen. Lindsey Graham for many of the positions which he has taken that do not represent the wishes of the people of South Carolina, such as:

Immigration, border security, McCain-Feingold, and participation in the “Gang of 14.”

Charleston Post & Courier Letter to the Editor.

by Kyle Rogers

Recently the Charleston Post & Courier ran an article about the high rate of suspensions and expulsions for black students. The article contained only quotes by people expressing an egalitarian/blame the school point of view, without showing both sides of the argument.

CofCC member Kyle Rogers got a letter to the editor printed on this topic:

Stop race baiting (printed Nov 12, 2007)

Race baiters should focus on fixing bad behavior and not blaming schools.

The U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Statistics reports that there is a huge disparity in the number of crimes committed by blacks compared with other groups.

Based on those disparities, one should expect that there would be a disparity in frequency of bad behavior between black and white school students.

[The Post & Courier made a factual error when they edited this paragraph, see below.]

The DOJ reports that the homicide rate in the black community is seven times greater than in the white community. Between 1976 and 2005, the DOJ reported that blacks averaged 13 percent of the population, but accounted for 59 percent of homicide charges and 53 percent of non-felony manslaughter charges. It also might come as no surprise that 93 percent of black homicides are committed by blacks.

In reality, blacks are probably less likely to be suspended for bad behavior than whites. Often, white teachers and administrators are afraid to discipline black students for fear of being called “racists.” Even some black school officials are afraid of being labeled a “sell-out” by black students.

The black community should be working to correct the situation, not blaming white society. Race baiters should stop imitating people like Al Sharpton and start paying attention to black leaders with a responsible message, such as Bill Cosby, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Georgia Rep. John Lewis, or Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

Even Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam recently stated that “we can no longer blame white people” and that he was sickened by the behavior of many young blacks in America.

Correction (published Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007)

A letter to the editor on Monday titled “Stop Race Rating” contained an editing error. The sentence should have read: The DOJ reports that blacks are seven times more likely to commit a homicide than other Americans.

Kyle Rogers on Larry Fontana Show

Kyle Rogers was a guest on the Larry Fontana Show today in Charlotte, NC on FM radio. This was Kyle’s first hostile radio interview. He has also been interviewed live on the radio in Charleston, Greenville, Memphis, and Chicago, but each time it was with a friendly conservative interviewer.

Kyle Rogers

I was asked to be a guest on the Larry Fontana Show to discuss immigration. However once I was on the air every single question was about black people and black-white race relations. It was a pretty lively discussion and I got out a lot of statistics and facts. On the show I called for candid dialog on race relations in a mature manor free of childish name calling. Larry Fontana responded by calling me a “white supremacist.”
